I was graciously given several tops for my aquariums. Lucky for me they need a bit of cleaning. Lots of hard water stains and other stuff.
I've heard I should use alcohol, CLR, vinegar, and who knows what else.
What stuff should I use to get these nice and clear again?
Also, what's the best way to keep them clean? Scrub them down like I do my tank?

I second that. Mix the vinegar with water though if you don't want the smell to overwhelm your place. I use a 50/50 mix in a spray bottle with a razor. Let it soak if the stains are really stubborn. To wipe it use black and white newspaper though. Newspaper cleans glass and mirrors better than anything. No residue, streaking or lint.

with the very hard water like we have in cloumbus ohio, and the resulting calcium deposits, i use CLR. then a green scrubby pad. and finally, with an emphasis on the "000"!......... steel wool!
i'm not worried about scratching on tempered glass, never have scratched yet. it's the same way auto body shops remove over spray on windshields and such. (lacquer thinner, and steel wool that is)
