Filter for ADA 90p

I am getting a new tank hopefully the end of this month or the end of April. I'm set on an Eheim 2217. The tank is going to be heavily planted will 1 be enough? I've seen a lot of tanks around the same size (40b) that people need an extra powerhead or even run two filters. I am trying to not have to put a powerhead in the tank. Tank is going to be heavily planted as well. Any advice would be great thanks.

I've been fighting this dilemma myself as well. I decided I'd use a 2074 so I won't need an unsightly powerhead. If you go for overkill, you can always dial back flow.

I think the general consensus is that a 2217 is sufficient though from my research. Every time I've followed that wisdom on previous tanks I've ended up dissatisfied with the results. I'm no expert though, might wanna wait for more feedback, just my $0.02.

You could use x2 2217, Fluval G6, FX5 or a Pro3e 2074 or 2076 for more flow and power.

Media wise, a single 2217 is plenty of surface area.
