Newbie - Airproduct regulator / needle valve question
Any assistance would be appreciated. Setting up my first real planted tank. A few stems in the gravel for decoration don't count. lol. It's going to be a nanotank for my office using a Fluval Edge. Yeah, I know it's a pain in the derrierre but it looks good.
I was able to get an Air Products Model #E12-C144A stainless 2 stage regulator dirt cheep. It was used with an oxygen tank and I plan to repurpose with a CGA320 for a small CO2 tank. My issue is that it came with a needle valve (type unknow but picture posted below). I was wondering if you guys thougth I could get away with it.
The regulator is a low flow model with max output of 10 psi and I do plan on using a small glass/ceramic diffuser because of the low pressure.
I know the recommendation is not to skimp on the needle valve but I thought it might work out in this situation;
(1) The two stage regulator would keep the pressure steady.
(2) Low output pressure of 10 psi combined with 5 1/2 turns from open to close on the needle valve would provide enough fine control on the bubble rate.
Thanks for the help. By the way, I do have thick skin so flame on!!!
