aquatop heater

Have anyone used or test out the aquatop heater?
I would like some feedback from a hobbyer point of view rather then the marker point of view.

I bought two of these on separate occasions. I don't use them in my tanks anymore. They both seemed to work fine for a while. Then, suddenly, they would shoot up to 90+ deg. I tried re-setting them. But, the same thing happened again. I only use them now to heat water for a water change in a separate container. I have been meaning to try the, more expensive, digital ones to see if they are any better. My experience was with the Ebo-Jager style with the dial on the top. Too can't beat the price. I guess you get what you pay for. Just an expensive gamble imo.

Re: aquatop heater

I use a eheim jager in my shrimp tank and I use a DIY temperature controller with a little aqueon heater in my pico reef. From my experience and also the experience of other folks on here eheim jager heaters are the way to go.
