should PVC or CPVC be used for plumbing of a tank?

30 gal planted modified HOT Magnum, DIY CO2, laterite and gravel, DIY hood with 10' P&A GE blulbs

I think I've looked up CPVC before to see if it would work for me. I can't remember why, but you should stay away from it.

I know PVC works.

Convert my 125 to something new.

Are "regular" plastic flowerpots safe? I am toying with some ideas to create "islands" and they are available in many shapes and sizes.

Only CPVC is approved for potable (drinking) water in Californina. Both PVC and CPVC do leach bad stuff like organotins but generally they are measured in the parts per trillion range, probably too small to do any harm to your livestock. Look for the CPVC that is rated by ANSI or the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF). These certifications show that the fittings meet certain standards regarding levels of leechates considered safe for drinking.
