rena xp2

I was just given a rena xp2, great unit so far. Easy to assemble, no leaks and no noise other than a very faint hum close to unit. I have a 55gal FW tank and feel I need more media than this unit offers.

I was wondering, if I get an xp3 or 4 canister with the baskets and stuff, will it still function at 75gph or would it drop too much?

Probably not, the motor and impeller are probably designed for the size of the XP2.

20g platy, , 2 x 10g shrimp, 3 x 20g shrimp, 7.5g shrimp and 1 great dane/mastiff puppy.

Somewhat... the media baskets will work the same from a XP2 to and XP3 (not sure about the XP4) but the you are correct when it comes to the motor and impeller assembly.

I accidentally bought an impeller for my XP2 and they shipped my one for a XP1. The gph and flow dropped significantly.
