Fluval co2 mod?

I got this fluval co2 setup some time ago, and stuck a ceramic diffuser on it. Works fine for plants only.

https://www.amazon.com/Fluval-Mini-P...rds=fluval+co2

But I got sick of fiddling with it every day, and switched to excel since I'm not trying to do HC or anything.

My question:

Can I add a ball valve or something to the air tube so I don't have to adjust it daily? I'd like to just be able to flip it on and off. Any reason I CAN'T do this? I'm no expert with pressurized co2. Again, plant only tank. I'm only using it because I have a bunch of cartridges that happen to fit it. I know there are better options, so please don't suggest that I get something better :P

You could install a needle valve inline. RedSea use to sell a inline needle valve so I'm sure somebody else does as well.

Yes, you can install one inline. The tubing adapter is threaded in with 1/8 inch npt. I removed mine to add a solenoid, and then reinstalled it after the solenoid.

That's pretty neat!

Thank you all for the suggestions. Would something like this work?

Two Little Fishies Ball Valve w/ Hose Barbs - Marine Depot

(I know the size is wrong, just pulled the first one I saw.)

It could work, but I'd be more comfortable with a pressure rated ball valve.
Being a plumber, I'm much more comfortable having the pressure from gases trapped by threaded fittings.

That co2pro is pretty neat looking, I'm already wondering what it has for threads behind the tubing adapters. I might have to get one to check it out and play with(if it's compatible with 120v 60 hz or 12/24v ac or dc).
