I`ve only just noticed this thread.

I used to have problems all the time with the Hagen co2 packets not working, until I stopped following the instructions about stiring the mixture befor putting the lid on.

I now follow the instructions and skip the bit about stirring the stuff, I put the lid on and then put my thumb over the nozzle and shake it vigerously for 30 seconds. I have not had one of these mixtures failing to start in 6months.
