Hey i am gathering supplies and everything to build a new nano tank for shrimp. Going to start with Neos first. What substraight should I be looking for?
Neos don't need active substrate, but I'd get dark sand if you can just in case you want to add some tangerine tigers later on. Of not cheap play sand works well.
Okay thanks, I have so.e stuff in a bucket I can use. Mix of eco complete florite black, and florite black sand and such. Also have some black blasting sand
Now how about filter and heater. I was looking at a 50 watt submirsiable that I can set around 74, also would like recomendations for a power filter either hang on back, or a HOB canistor. Recomendations for heat and filter? Light is a single bright 16" marieneland
I really like the hydor heaters. They're about all I use. They're simple and have a dial with the heat you want to set it at. I always have better luck with ADA substrate but considering you have neos i think you'll be fine. I started out my shrimp colony in a tank this size as well. The shrimp flourished. Good luck
