Exclamation What are these?

So I was at Pet Supplies Plus looking for a new filter, and I happened to look in the livestock tanks. I saw a brown shrimp and a white shrimp together? Their "label" was fancy shrimp...what could these little guys be? They were only $2 each.

Can you rename the title? No one has a single idea what the thread is about unless they hover or click in.

Anyways, I did some research on the "mixed fancy shrimp" and it's basically different colorations of neo shrimps.

Blue pearl, cherry red, yellow, some rili shrimps.

So if I get them you think they should be prolific breeders just like RCS? I am looking for a good live food for other fish and I enjoy shrimp. I'm gonna do a shrimp only tank in hopes they breed enough to keep plenty and feed some off.

They should breed like rcs but at my pet supply plus, they sell them for 2.89! Red cherry shrimps cost only 1.00 if you know locals. Or from market place on te forum

$2 each is a bit under the price at which I got my Supreme Reds (not including shipping). Regular RCS go for less than a dollar these days.

The cheapest RCS around me is at a LFS, actually the only LFS near Akron, OH...they are a ridiculous $4.99. I am looking for nice cheap shrimp but it almost seems impossible to get them where I am at. Finding some for $1 is like a dream come true, but I am really leery about shipping in the winter and if I pay someone on the forum who is to say I will get something in return? I have never used the market place, but I have concerns about it...

I also kind of liked the shrimp at PSP because they were solid colored. With RCS I find that they are see through and hard to see. But these were solid brown and white. Kind of pretty and interesting to the eye.

Wow, those prices are cheap compared to my LFS. They have their Cherries for $6.99 and the crystals for $11.99

You would think that if they were so easy to breed the store would probably be smart enough to breed them in house and sell them. That is what I would try to do. The owner says that he has to get them shipped from Florida every week, that explains the cost.

I wish that was an option. It seems in the aquarium world, northeast Ohio is a dead zone.

you are right. NEO sucks for shrimps! $2 isn't bad. have you joined any forums on FB? there are a few breeders semi local to us.
