So from these pictures I would guess it was as I had suspected...the "shadow" must be the black cast to the red.

hmmm...after reading the comments, it seems though hey just called it shadow for regular WR and RR, not having to do with color as I had thought. Interesting

Beautiful shrimp. I really wish there was a more universal naming system. There are so many names for the same shrimp. Beautiful though

I thought red shadow meant red stripes plus blue stripes on a king kong... A shrimp like that could fetch some real $$$

In some parts of the world, shadow just means Taiwan bees.

i think its just because of a different part of the world. i have not found any good shrimp groups in the us.... on facebook that is. they are all based out of the uk. but alot of good info in them. ive asked a few questions. alot of people over there keep "blue jelly" shrimp. over there from what i have found they are either blue velvet or blue dream the clear blue bodies but they are neo's. there are the blue jelly cards but i have only seen 2 in the differnt groups im in that talk about them. in one of the groups we talked about the "red dragon" here. i think they use shadow instead of panda most of the time. it does not look like it has anything to do with there being black in them or not because even what we call panda and shadow panda they refer to as shadow and blue shadow.

ive said it on more that a few pm's lol shrimp names are as bad as guppy names. every one calles them what they want. i know a guy that called blue velvet shrimp (even knowing they are just young blue velvet with red still on them) candy blue velvets. ive tried to correct him several times but.... they can be called what ever they want to sell them. same goes with guppies. the problem being since they are color mutations and not different DNA they get called all kinds of things and its still the same shrimp so it has the same scientific name

Red and Black Shadow are just what Fu Shrimp in China call their Taiwan Bees. I don't think they are any different than normal TB. Shrimpusa sells Fu's stock and he calls his TB Shadows.
