Berried Wine Red Shrimp

I purchased some Wine Red & Ruby Red Shrimp from orhunterfisher a few weeks ago and received them on 12/20/13. Two nights ago, I noticed that a couple of males swam around like crazy in my tank. I knew a berried female was soon to be found. By yesterday morning, I found a berried female! I'm super stoked, since it usually takes about 4 weeks before my newly acquired shrimp get berried. This time it was only 3 weeks.

Here's a picture that I snapped a few hours ago. It's so difficult to tell if they are berried or not because the colors on their carapace is so thick. But I think in this photo, you can kindaaaaa see it if you really focus hard. lol.

This tank IS being injected with co2 in low doses.

Very nice. It is always a bonus when you don't have to wait months and months for them to finally get berried.

Thanks everyone! I'm still pretty stoked to how fast they got comfortable in my tank. I've recorded many new shrimp tanks before and even for neos, it usually takes about 4 weeks. I know 1 week shaven off may seem insignificant to some but it feels like a month was taken off for me! lol.

Hopefully magical San Francisco water follows through with its current success and I get a bunch of shrimplets surviving after birth Gotta thank Sean (orhunterfisher) again for great shrimp!

Of the 14 I received from him, currently, only 5 are fully mature to mate and only 1/5 is female. I'm really crossing my fingers that I will have other females from the rest that still need to grow. I may have to hit him up again and request for some females to make up for the excess males! lol
