Tigers not breeding

My tiger shrimp have been breeding fine all summer when I lived in Nashville. I moved back to Illinois for school and put them in another tank after it fully cycled. They bred good for awhile and then just randomly stopped. I'm not sure if it's my water or if it's the time of year and they dont want to breed in winter. Here is what I found the other day when I tested my water.

KH: 7
GH: 15
PH: 7.6

Both my oebt and royals are all berried right now. I think the gh of 15 may be part of it, if my gh creeps over 6 i start to have issues.

Thats what I was thinking to. Do you think mixing half RO water with my tap water would help lower the GH?

Ro mixed with tap will lower the everything GH/KH/PH so if you do test the mixture. What I have done to figure out the right mix is add 50% RO water in a 5g bucket then slowly add tap water till I get desired result.

When you add this to your tank I would recommend doing a drip so you don't shock the shrimp.

That's what I do, just try 50/50 first and test your GH. Your KH will be lower as well, I use baking soda to increase the KH.

Added some RO water today and mixed it with tap water. Got my parameters down to:

GH: 7-8
KH: 4
PH: 7.6

I would still like to get my PH down some. Shooting for a PH of around 7-7.2

Those parameters should work fine just have to avoid large fluctuations now
