This is a picture I just took of my Blue bolt baby. Mother was a golden and father a BKK. When this baby was born it had orange eyes and was a deep turq blue. I just snapped a pic of it today, and it has what appears to be some headgear.
Its the weirdest thing Ive seen, Im not sure what to make of this, so if anyone else has had this happen, please show me pics of your baby and what it turned out like as an adult. So I can get an idea of what might happen as this one matures....because Im stumped
picture about a few days old.
taken this am. Middle pic is with a flash, top 2 pics without flash...headgear is still there.
"As there is a graduation from pure white to pure blue with these shrimp, it is disputed as to at what point the shrimp is no longer considered a ‘Snow White’ shrimp but a ‘Blue Bolt’ instead. " http://atyidae.wordpress.com/780-2/
Bob used to have a great picture on AB of the snows he was selling having different colors of headgear- including blue.
That is very interesting. I always thought the BB looked more in body type to the Snow/Golden Bees, with just a blue tinge added to them in varying degrees.
This would account for why people are getting blue bolts from a cross of Golden x BKK (in my case this is what happened) However in the same batch of babies were BKKs, Blue BKKs, Snow whites (definite white) and Blue Bolts.
I guess I should keep the two of these that I have and breed them back to the Bkks to see what else comes out of that pot.
Thanks for explaining in detail the article about them.
I have to say that I do like Blue Bolts the best though.
Her tibee breeding is amazing. Her tigers are cool. I feel jealous as I have royals btoe oebt and red tigers. All breeding good now I need the fiancée to get a new job to breed them to bb and bkk and wr
