Its the cycle that never ends, yes it goes on and on my friends
Glad I decided to wait longer after my initial testing last week showed the tank had cycled. My test kit got left in the car, oops and I think cooking in the crazy Texas heat made it defective.
I bought a new kit after realizing I was getting crazy skewed results. New test kit shows the cycling tank sitting at 0-0.25 ammonia, looks closer to 0.
Showing wild swings of nitrIte during the day, anywhere between 0.25 to 5.0 ppm! Holy crap! NitrAtes sitting steadily at 5.0ppm.
*sigh* the waiting continues.
Meanwhile in the temp shrimp holding tank, I have one very berried mama and another who saddled up yesterday! Exciting. Hopefully the cycle will be done before the births! I really want them settled in their permanent tank when the babies hatch.
Advice" should i do anything at all or do I just need to be more patient? Lol I hate patience.
