my amano is carrying eggs

so it seem that finally one of my amano is carrying eggs....lot of them

I will be trying to hatch and growt the larva to adult...hopefully...

OPTION 1: Must I seprate the pregnant amano or leave it in the big tank...

I was thinking of putting it in breeder net and have moss and marimo ball in there until she is ready to pop them out... then move the net into the nano salt tank

OPTION 2: get a 2.5g tank and put the prego shrimp in there with the tanks water along with some moss so the baby can eat the micro bacterial when they grow....then remove the mother after that...

There is a thread on here about someone else doing this. I havent seen it in a couple weeks but your best bet would be to contact that person and find out some info from them. It was his second attempt but i dont know how it turned out. The last i saw the wee ones were growing, but still TINY.

You should still do it, it's a fascinating process.

thanks..i read it..

My plans:

Wait until 1 week before the female is about to release her baby, net her and put her inside a breeder net...this way i can collect the baby easily and move the female out easy...

Transfer the baby to the saltwater tank and from there we go...

I hope it goes well...

Awesome. I'm assuming that you know how to put together a saltwater tank.
