Orange bee shrimp at petco? Pics added

They are solid orange not striped. Could they really be bee shrimp?

and would they interbreed with my pearls?

Ok pics added. 2 bonus guppy fry lol

I hope my local petco got some. I can't find any shrimp locally

Just have them shipped. Shipping is $10, and after you factor in pet store costs, TPT is cheaper.

ugh i'm 100% sure tpt has pumpkin shrimp in both male and females. ask the seller for a mix ratio of gender. unless you sir are just buying 1 or 2

oh i tried, all they have is female, even speedie and pc1!! =<... i brought some from speedie and i asked for a good mix of male and females. he sent me all females =< and he doesn't have any males available for sale =<

I've seen a speedie order with male pumpkins. Perhaps he ran out, but he's restocked now. So you could ask again.

Yes, the propinqua shrimp are often sold by far eastern wholesalers, which is where most of Petco's stuff comes from. I doubt they can get pumpkin shrimp yet.

It's fairly easy to tell if they are propinqua. Just look to see if the body is long and narrow. They never look as rounded as a female neo does. They all look a little bit like male neos to me.

you *know* that Im going to have to go buy one and post the pic now right?


I did a bunch of googling and alot of people have posted that they got shrimp from petco labeled orange bee shrimp and they ended up being a type that needs brackish water like the amanos for baby survival. Ill go buy two anyway and take a pic just for education and curiosity.
