What did you float them in? Kordon Breather bags are NOT supposed to be floated. You can deprive them of oxygen. And you GH is low for any of those shrimp. Change in params probably results in premature molting, low GH caused problems would be my guess. Without other params hard to help you at all that (as in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, TDS)

I floated them in open glass mason jars while slowly drip acclimating them. My ammonia and Nitrite levels were at 0 the only one that was bad was the Nitrate which was at 20ppm. Also from what I have seen anywhere from 3-5 GH is fine for both CRS and RCS.

Help My Shrimp

I have had problems moving cherries into tanks where the water ph is different. My cherry tank, ph ~ 7.2 into my CRS cull tank, ph ~ 6.8, most of the adults died. The ppm in all my tanks is about 300 and temp is 72. Do you know the ph of the tanks you got the shrimps from?

The CRS should have gone first if it was nitrates that caused the problem in my opinion.

3 GH is low. 4 is pushing it but is fine for CRS. I keep all my tanks at 5 or greater. And depending on the parameters they came from, it just could have been too much of a swing. 20ppm nitrates would affect CRS more than neos from my experience. You could have just gotten bad stock. It happens.

I like salty shrimp gh+ and fluval shrimp minerals. Salty shrimp is a little cleaner with lower TDS.
