Amano Shrimp

As Amano shrimp grow do they become less shy of the fish in the tank? I have had large ghost shrimp in my tank with no problems.

Mine are fine in my community tank are where shy and hid alot, but after I put in the Bristlenose Plecos they don't hide anymore.

So a guy walks into a Pet Store

Guy: "I have Algae on my drift wood!"

Pet Clerk: "Take two Plecos and call me next week."

Mine are out all the time. I don't have much in terms of fish in my tank and they are pretty big though.

I may try to catch your fish if they are big enough

Are your smaller Amano Shrimp hiding? Mine were generally fearless unless harrassed.

no they all would hide under driftwood, then they all came out and since I got those Plecos they are out all the time. Here's a video I made

My Amanos show no fear of my mature angelfish. However, that fearlessness may end up redistributing them in the food chain in the future, should the angels be hungry for shrimp at some point.

My Amano shrimp are the bullies of the tank. They go where they want when they want and will fight off even my biggest fish to get to food. I have some pretty big Roselin Barbs. I've seen them yank food right out of another fishes mouth and swim away with it.

Give them time they will come out.

I have 11 of them in a community tank. I wonder if they are less shy in numbers than if you just have one or two.

I agree with Jadenlea, My amanos are absolute thiefs. When I feed my fish I normally drop in a couple of bits of algae wafers or shrimp pellets for all of my bottom feeders, but the amanos are always trying to steal it away from them. I want the amanos to clean up on any algae not eat the fish food.
