What to do with my Micro Crab

Well I brought this Micro crab from a LFS they had him in filthy water and really didn't care about him wrote him off as a loss so I got him for 5bucks but I cannot put him in the big tank he'll get eaten. So he's in a breeding pen floating in the big tank. He looks better and roams the pen freely.

I don't know where I'm going but I'm on my way.

That's a lot for a micro crab.. They're like $3 lol.

They hide wherever they are. If you have an invert tank, I'd add it to that.

What to do with my Micro Crab

Thai Micro Crabs are sort of like fan feeders.

They're safe for everything but the smallest of free floating shrimplets.

Most commonly kept shrimp aren't low form breeders though, so they don't have a free floating stage. So yes they are.

There are other micro crab species, like dwarf mud crabs, and those are less shrimp safe, but still compatible.

Ok thanks. By me they are expensive he was 9 bucks 5 out the door. It a shame the store used to be really good but it has started to turn in to a dump dirty tank employees only do things when the boss is around sucks. They had a nice little planted tank in front but now its a algea swamp and the fish are not happy happy in there anymore. The shrimp around here are not cheap either cherry 3 for $10. But I did get some nice Amanos for $1.49 each.

You think my Loache or GBR would eat the micro crad.

I don't know where I'm going but I'm on my way.

That's a good deal on Amanos by any means.

Yes I would assume they'd pick at or try to eat it

Rare and expensive? Depending on where you are, perhaps. Msjinkzd sells them for like $3-4 each?

Nope. Hasn't been done yet.

Msjinkzd (Rachel, a female FYI lol) claims she has seen one juvie in her tank which survived from Zoea to adulthood.

She wasn't really 'trying' I guess though? Perhaps it can be done, but the most concentrated efforts thus far have failed.

As far as I'm concerned, they're a 2-year-only pet

Yep its a micro coolest little bugger really doesn't' do much but" I got one and you don't" lol he's is pretty cool thinking of makeing a nano tank out of a .5gal square vaze with a Deep Blue Nano hob and a cheapo light. I have some moss and maybe a moss ball.

I don't know where I'm going but I'm on my way.

I could ID it with a pic. But that'd be a nice tank for him and another of his kind.
