In terms of common shrimp, I'd say Crystals are sensitive.
The Fluval product would likely be better suited to your needs. Depending upon your budget, you may want to consider using a product from Salty Shrimp or something like Shirakura Ca+ or Mosura Mineral Plus Ultra.
Any ideas on the tds for 4dgh for the Fluval? I've looked and looked and can't seem to find it. I'd buy some salty shrimp, but the treasury is currently empty since a just bought a rena xp3 off Craigslist....
To be honest, i probably unorthodox with these Gh boosters. The supplements are applied to the tank, then the GH is retested after 20 min or so... then add more supplements are added till the GH is roughly around 4, or where i need it to be.
I never knew if going by TDS would be an accurate measure unless one bases it solely on the delta between the initial ppm reading and the ppm after dosing the supplement while discounting the dissolved solids already in the water. Sorry to answer your question by posing another.
That's exactly how I'm trying to do it. I'm starting at zero tds in the ro water. Assuming I'm only adding to the gh and or kh there should be a tds accordingly. I know it is 17.9 per degree for each, but I don't know what else is in the bottle you know?
Now that's awesome! I only need to mix 2 gallons at a time, but that info gets me exactly what I needed! Thanks! My tds in the tank today is 128 and I have been using tap water. I'll slowly ramp them up to the new remenerilized tds level and hopefully watch them thrive. All other parameters are good I think. I'm at 0 on ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate and ph is 6.4.
