I am very happy the way it is turning out. You do learn from the mistakes that are made in this hobby. I have to do a water change soon, I just think I am going to set my alarm and do it at 1 in the morning. The temps in California are already above 90F.
Is it me, or do CBS mature much slower than other species of shrimp? I have not seen a single molt since I got them. Maybe they molt under all the moss. I thought I would have some berried shrimp by now. My next step is to wait until the weather cools down by the end of summer to order another package of CBS and PLB. Hopefully by the holiday season I will have a nice size colony going strong.
Last night I feed some organic barley pellets and they loved it.
Time for an update. I have some good news. 2 days ago I noticed that all the males where flying around the tank bumping into everything. I was looking for a swollen female and bingo. The next day this is what I found. I am so excited I can’t even tell you guys. So in about 20 – 25 days (hoping) there should be little black and white spec grazing around. I will let you know.
