I had to bring home my betta from work.. (not allowed anymore..stupid rule). I really dont want to keep him in a jar anymore.. I was thinking of adding him to daughters tank.. 10gallon with black tetras and some shrimp. What is teh likely hood of the betta killing the shrimp. They are all full grown amano shrimp...
My cousin put her betta in with ghost shrimp. They were all killed. Then again that fish just had a home a little bigger than the usual fish bowl. I put a female in my 29 gallon and it attacked my cherries as soon as she saw them.
my betta knew he couldn't fit the shrimp in his mouth...so he just took really big bites He ate some shrimp that were as big as full-grown guppies. He was soon relocated
I think it depends on the betta. I have one that lives with some cory cats and a few cherry shrimp. When I first put the shrimp in, he ate a couple smaller ones. The larger shrimp continued to hide for a week, but now they roam around normally and the betta pays them no attention.
Conclusion - relocate the shrimp or time to head to the LFS for a nice 15 gallon Betta tank.
