wow they look really bad. that sucks!
broken antenae means somethings wrong.
try tetracycline and Erythromycin
dont use paraguard it can kill shrimp
melafix and pimafix dont really cure anything more just preventative.
hope that helps.

they are probably too far gone though

that is the weired pic ever. and you might be using to much reminerlizer if your gh out of the tap is 3 and in tank is 8-9. if your mixing tap and ro you dont really need a remineralizer to you? i used paraguard with red tiger and oebt, rili and pumpkins it didnt harm the shrimp. alot of shrimp people use it

Is it possible to be from very high level of oxygen? Spray bar is shooting to the water+ 2 sponge air driven filters. I can see air bubbles on shrimps bodies. There are berried shrimps, thought.

I'm curious as to how old the test is that you are using for gh?

I just ask my wife to take a look at home tanks. She told me that there are 2 like this in my 10 gal low grade Blue Dream shrimp tank. She told me that if she knocks on the glass they start swimming in circles. Regular blue velvets are OK. Iím puzzled now. I didnít pay attention on neos much but the water parameters are steady and food is good.

Actually I didn't test GH lastly but if TDS is 250 GH is somewhere between 7-10.
Test is less than a year old.
My tap water have PH8 , TDS130 ,GH3 and ,KH3.When I mix it with RO 50/50 I need to add GH buffer.
Paraguard is OK but didn’t help much. Melafix is beter but only helps in some cases.
I haven’t used tetracycline or Erythromycin. Will the shrimps survive it?

I find melafix to not do anything for me and paraguard does a lot...but I guess it's a YMMV kinda deal.

Tetra and Erythro are common antibiotics used in the fish trade, usually shouldn't have a negative effect on shrimp......just follow the dosing.

Maybe it's only a blue strain deal? I haven't seen this extreme whiteness in any other color of my neos, just the blues.....dunno if they are dying or not.

I have bred thousands of BV now and have never seen this. I'm sure it has nothing to do with blue coloration.

If it is a mutation that is popping up now, you could try to breed for it and keep a close watch on your shrimp as they grow...but somehow I just don't think so.

If they start to die and if I can breed them I'll be the first one with real ghost shrimps around here.

neo version of blue bolts is what it kinda looks like. i hope for the sake of the shrimp its a color mutation since its a new strain and not bacterial

That is freaky looking and not normal for BV shrimp at all. I'd cull those immediately if I were you.

Any update on this? I've had some random deaths oh CRS and snowballs.. One shrimp died every two or three days in course of two weeks. Deciding melafix or paraguard. Already put IAL but doesn't seem to work.
