You dose Melafix every day or every other day for X amount of days (you can search on here or on Shrimpsider). And then do 80% water changes at the end of 5 or 7 days (can't remember off the top of my head). If you want to do more 'cure' than preventative you need to do 3-4 weeks of this. For preventative you can dose once a week. As far as preventative, IAL, alder cones and such probably offer the same amount of benefit but Melafix can stress babies in my experience and weak will not make it. Paraguard I had good luck with with neos, not with tigers. Everyone's experiences will vary, just keep that in mind. I did everything under the sun and lost a whole colony of OEBTs except 2. In hindsight I honestly think I did too much. Your best bet is preventative measures in the first place, it's very difficult to treat once it takes hold. Quarantining suspected shrimp and dosing those separately had been the best course I've found personally. I quarantine them in tupperware with an airstone, decent amount of Alder cones, IAL, with either a dose of Melafix or Benibachi Shrimp Emergency. And then cross fingers and toes. About the best you can do.
