Also, for shrimp, I am now thinking possibly snowballs or blueberries...not sure yet. Or, perhaps I'll try my hand at some Cardinal Shrimp.

PFR/Tiger nano

The cardinals would be cool. I used to love snowballs, but they remind me too much of ghost shrimp.

You could pick based on the overall color of your tank?

Yeah, that's kinda an issue with me too. If I can find a happy medium for water parameters, maybe the Cardinals and some blueberry or still maybe the snowballs, they would be a cool contrast I think.

Figured it was time for a few pictures...

Lights on, not too bright which is good in my case...

Red lights only...

Edges and silicon seem pretty nice...

Thought so. It looks nice. The tank makes it look small though, which kinda helps your look.

It does kinda even though it's a 10" light on a 12" tank.

Well, substrate...I'm thinking hard about getting some Aquasoil New Amazonia. Much as I hate to spend $55 on substrate, I think it might be the best for my purpose. I'm hoping I can get my water mixed and buffered to close to pH 7...maybe something around 6.8 or so. Seems like a reasonable range for the tigers though from reading tank journals, pH ranges are all over the place which really makes it hard to decide on a number to shoot for. I've tried low and high so I'm hoping that closer to the middle will work out.

Any thoughts? If I go more inert, I was thinking Eco-Complete. I like the look of it. I want to not use sand in this tank just for aesthetic reasons even though I have loads of it on hand. A $20 bag of Eco-Complete is pretty reasonable I think.

Just playing around...I've had this statue for many years...plopped it in the tank just to see...I kinda like it...wish it was just a little smaller but it could work. Imagine it covered in moss/fissidens and with some hairgrass growing up around it...some crumbled rocks around it...

Or maybe I'll save it for a larger tank. Now that I have this Mr. Aqua tank...I don't think I can go rimmed tank anymore...unless it's a BIG tank, but smaller tanks it's rimless all the way now. I'm trying to sell all my 20L and 40B tank now. I'll use the money for another larger rimless, maybe try my hand again at hi-tech even.

LOVE IT. You NEED to try to work with this.

Moss on it, you could even decorate it with glue/blowtorch to make it look older.

I think you might enjoy how shrimp would climb on it.

You may even be able to get H. Japan to grow up it.

I don't know if you'd need to clear coat it or not.
