Question Will calcium harm my shrimp?

I have apple snails in a tank with my red cherries. I like to drop in a calcium pill which is just plain calcium with no vitamin D. It helps the snails have stronger shells. Just wondering if it would harm my shrimp at all?

I use cuttle bone, and it hasn't raised my gh for my cherries at all.

I don't know, I got them from a seller on AB but really according to what I've read, any calcium tab vitamins you get should be fine, the ones I use are oyster shell calcium tabs. Half a tab for 10 gallon once every two weeks is what I generally do.

I am 99.9% positive that calcium won't hurt your shrimp one bit.

I use the liquid calcium chloride for marine tanks. Both with my fire reds and crystal shrimp. I think it helps them.

I wonder how well oyster shell from a farm supply store would work. You can get 25# for a few dollars. I have a bunch of it for my garden. Maybe I'll drop in a couple pieces and see what happens.
