Shrimp and Microdevario kubotai

I know that there might be some predation but what is the general thought of keeping such a small fish (adult size .5 in) with shrimp?

Does anyone keep this fish with their shrimp?

I'm thinking the neon yellow fish and red shrimp would be an interesting contrast.

There will be some predation and there may be some harassment. Because anything that can fit in the mouth of the fish = food.

But if you provide tons of moss and hiding spaces for the shrimp - and know that they won't necessarily be as active as they would be in a tank without fish - you have the potential to have a solid population of shrimp.

I LOVE my kubotai. They are an awesome little fish. I had them in my shrimp tank and my shrimp population exploded. The key I found was that the fish really only swim in open areas so if you leave some open space and some densely planted areas you should be fine. The larger shrimp didn't seem bothered by them. At feeding time the shrimp would all gather around the food and the fish would just hover above them grabbing little pieces of food that would flake off.

ETA: I wouldn't call them yellow at all though. Mine are definitely green unless the color varies some by source.
