Thinking about a Blue Crayfish setup

So I have a spare 20b and I saw a Blue Crayfish ( labled as electric Blue Crayfish ) at the LFS. He was in a tank with some smallish tetras and was obviously hunting them. I would have bought him on the spot, but im past the days of impulse buys. Unless its a car, motorcycle, fishing equipment, beer, etc Anyway, I know all I can put in the tank is one, and plants wont last either. I plan on building a mini reef with good hiding. Question is, are there any fish I should think about adding? What about substrate? Are there any thoughts, ideas or concerns you have??

Some pet store crays get huge, there was an lfs here that had a cray as big as a lobster, so keep that in mind.

Also I know big crays are climbers that can breathe air, but they can dry out if they escape. I had a petsmart cray escape my tank once, found it the next day about 15 feet from the tank.

But no other fish, crays will climb up to get at top fish, nothing is safe, haha. They're actually pretty good at catching them in the day, but when fish are sleeping at night it's like an all you can eat buffet.

ya my roomies crays snipped all the plants at the roots, just because. There wasn't a type of fish they couldn't catch at some point. They are hunters. Get feeder fish if you keep crays like feed guppies or red rosy minnows, cheap and when they get eaten you're only out 10 cents.

20g platy, , 2 x 10g shrimp, 3 x 20g shrimp, 7.5g shrimp and 1 great dane/mastiff puppy.

I have read that they get to be about 6". I am not really a fan of using feeder fish unless I am the one breeding them. I had some bad experiences with store bought feeders ( goldfish, guppies etc )
