New Discovery about Turface MVP soil

3 days ago I bought a bag of Turface MVP (50lbs for $15) and put it into my new aquarium.

Today I decide to test my PH level and after 3 tests it remain at 6.1 - 6.2. I was amazed how well it lowered my water from the normal 7.2-7.4. This might be the best alternate to CRS or any other inverts that like the 6 PH range.

Not only does the Turface looks great it also lower KH and PH which is the best thing for my new CRS. It looks like Akadama when submerged and let it settles.

That effect doesn't last long, it's from the high cec. It sucks in calcium for a few months and then it equalizes and stops doing that. Happens faster when you use fertilizer.

Liam is spot on like always. I tested this in a tank and in 2 months it was back to normal.

Seems like it might be ok to filter water through to lower the pH prior to adding but that's about it.

I guess Agway is not in so. Cal. Go to the Turface site to find distributers of MVP in Southern California.
