I kept several mystery snail only tanks and ramshorn tanks for a while, no plants though.

I do, I breed out my pink and blue ramshorns in their own little planted 'tanks' (okay, so I'm cheap and they are clear plastic containers from home depot, but still lol)
Culls, and excess babies get fed to my assassins and my pea puffer.

Back on the forum after two moves across two years! Slowly getting back into the hobby!

I've quite a few nano tanks/planted vases that are snail only:

a bachelor pad for my assassin snails to hangout between deployments to my main tanks
a planted vase of pond snails being selectively bred for striped shells
a bowl of juvie ramshorns
a planted vase of extra nerites
and a half dozen vases full of various mosses, riccia and such being grown out that I use MTS in to help control algae (MTS seldom crawl out of even the smallest vases--unlike ponds and nerites, and are hardier in the face of heavy ferts than rams)

I had just four apple snails and they laid eggs and I had about 100+ baby snails in a 10 gallon planted I sold half of them and spread the others the ought my 4 tanks and sell them to people on campus for a dollar each. I love my snails!
