Berried Blue Velvet juvie!

Okay, I don't think I have even seen a ~3/8" Juvie neo berried before!

It happened to my blue velvet though! (the ruler is in the foreground.)

Anyone else had any berried that early?

I've had a couple cherry culls berry at that size, but all of them dropped the eggs within a week. Only with my cherry culls though-- my orange neos and FPR offspring from the same period aren't even saddling yet.

This is the reason why I assumed this variant is a little different from other Neos. Mine tend to stay smaller than other Neo variants and yes they berry much much younger. Maybe they're migit shrimp?

I'm guessing that the ones that displayed this phenotype when selecting for the strain may have been smaller, but after setting the strain the "small" gene was set for good.

Hmm, seems to go along with the fact that my blue velvets are growing much slower than my regular red rilis, and are in general much smaller than the reds, even the reds that are significantly younger than them. I've been seeing the beginnings of saddles of the blues as well. Hmm...pygmy shrimp? Haha, I wonder how their growth rate and size could be improved to match my reds
