i have a small tank.. that wont work... just looked up this shrimp.. it says they will eat from the bottom.. he's FAT doubt he's starving... i think he just likes shrimp souffle .. he doesn't come down for green sol.. whatever...

he's almost 3" and way to big for a 6 gallon tank.. which is why i would never have ordered him... to be honest sometimes he does hang by the outflow (he has a place to hang) but he's lonely i think... he likes to be with the other shrimp...

1 6 gallon
1 2 gallon 8" cube
1 10 gallon endlers tank
1 betta

Here they are http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/al...p?albumid=9625

6 gallon journal

you can see more photos here the 4 8" cubes are on flicker... will get to their journal at some point (they are fun as they change often)

But yeah, in the aquarium this behavior is frequently a giveaway of insufficient current or too few suspended food particles. Having a powerhead directed at a piece of hardscape that they can perch on is always appreciated.

the best way tell if they are eating enough is how much are they pooping and if they are staying in place. generally if there is plenty food in one location they will not leave that location, unless you have dropped something in the tank they like more than what is floating in the water.

oh and i would love Love LOVE to take him off your hands. i love filter feeding shrimp!

it''s a green lace shrimp!

they range from many different colors.

I got some from rachel.

This shrimp don't even filter in the current at all.... they love to eat from the bottom and i have not seen any of my three climb my driftwood in the current ever since i got them a month back.

they use their fan to grab food on the bottom or gravel.. i don't think it does anything to them since they are still alive and molting regularly.
