im not quite sure why they're not breeding. my one female molts quite often but i dont see any of the males doing anything. Also im not sure if she had bred but i see her fins pulsing. is that a sign that she will be berried? or is it her sending the pheromones? i would quite like it if they had some babies soon haha.
i have about 7-10 cherries and 5 CRS that are still juvies. but the cherrys have been in there for about 2 months now. and i've had this particular set of cherries for around months so it should be able to mate. the tank has ADA soil amazonia the new one i think
My CBS had really slowed down too. Hadn't seen a berry in months. I switched to RO water about a month ago (which lowered the TDS) and I've been religious about doing weekly 3G water changes on the 20G tank, and now there are berries EVERYWHERE. I saw five berried girls this morning.
the tank is about 5 gal and has a pretty thick carpet of glosso and some dwarf sag. im just wondering if shes berried right now because she keeps fanning her fins. shes just walking around and they're pulsing
well ive heard several times and had it happen with my shrimp (both neo's and cards) they slow way down or stop breedin in the winter/cold months and pick it back up in the spring. that could be part of it. also if its ada soil chances are the ph is a tad low for the cherries to breed. i know my rili would saddle but not breed when they were in really low ph and they are a neo like cherry shrimp
