So far, so good. Only been up a bit so I'll have to see the long term but the theory behind it is sound, shrimp loves sponges, big sponge wall should be happy shrimp. lol. This tank is more an experiment about setting up a tank without active substrate and keeping, breeding and raising high grade crystal shrimp in a near neutral water. Using RO water and bit of Ebiken Sosei, my water is about 6.7-6.8pH, bee mineral plus for the RO and the HMF filter and that's it.

20g platy, , 2 x 10g shrimp, 3 x 20g shrimp, 7.5g shrimp and 1 great dane/mastiff puppy.

Also in my signature.

You must not have looked hard. There are hundreds of tank journals on the topic and a specific shrimp section lol.

Thanks! When I figure out what different plants I'm going to try the only plants I will keep inside is the java moss, rotala indica & maybe the anubias. All the other stuff just grows way to fast, here is the tank last week.

Awesome tanks! I wanted to ask a similiar thing and get pics of people's shrimp tanks without having to dig through 6 pages of each journal. These tanks are very impressive. I'm in the process of completely redoing mine. Just got the Tahitian Moon Sand in, a rock, some driftwood I made, moss, Fissidins, and Bacopa. Going to set up another DW piece tomorrow and I'll post a pic when it fills in a bit

That tank really tied the room together

Keeping the plants is easy. The hard part is keeping the water in while upside down. :p

Saran Wrap and duct tape!! I don't get why it shows upside down. If I click on it it's the right way
