I am trying to figure out what this is:
I have many of these snails now because my sulawesi snails started to breed a few months back. This snail is born from Yellow poso snails yet it doesnt look like them...all snails born from my yellows look like this. i have about 30+ of these odd looking offspring.
I also have orange spotted poso snails in the same tank, so I was wondering if this mystery snail was a hybrid of the two:
The orange spotteds have two shell color morphs - one is the light tan you see here and the other is brown-black.
The babies coming from the orange spotteds do look like their parents (either tan or black shells and skin color matches):
^those three pics are orange spotted juveniles and a baby.
There is one more species of sulawesi snail in the tank, but its just one individual. is there a possibility that this orange poso is also involved in breeding?
So does anyone have any ideas?
Did something hybridize with something else, or do all yellow poso babies look ugly like that first pic, and then turn yellow? I doubt it.
Thanks if you have any opinions.
