Nerites in acidic pH

I'm just finishing cycling in my 9 gallon nano tank that I'm planning to use for some neocaridina shrimp. I'd also planned to put in some Nerite snails to help keep algae under control. But as I was doing my research, I found a site saying that they shouldn't be kept in tanks with acidic pH or overly soft water.

I'm using New Aquasoil, which leaves me with 0-1 KH, 5-7 GH, and a pH of around 6.6.

Should I avoid these with my water conditions? One of the reasons I wanted nerites over other snail types was that they wouldn't reproduce in freshwater.

definitely avoid them, most snails wont like those conditions. they'll have major issues with their shells and Calcium uptake.

you can use amano shrimp instead! and you yourself can clean the glass so no need for snails.
