when u walking into pet store at parking lot , somebody approach at u and asking
hey u want these for $10???
is it weird????
i been running these tanks
and u know shrimp breed crazy
i cant afford food for all of them
i have to sell them but i want to sell them all in one day (maybe a cheap and fast way)
i dont like online and i dont like each of person come to my house for pickup
so every 3 months, i happened to pack 30bags of shrimp/ endlers and crayfish selling them on street
i can open a vendor in big flea market or i sell them at parking lot of petstores
is it illegal or should i be careful of something ......?
advice needed...
when i open a vendor in flea market i have to pay $60
so i would sell these shrimps for $20
however on parking of petstore, i want $10
its kinda fun selling them person to person lol
i asked at aquarium center in NJ , hiddenreef , fishfactory , nemos... and more lfs...
they can't give me store credit
i brought some stores samples a lots of clarkiis they selling $10~20 in store
i show them my fish room , my 200~300 yellow , rcs
offered 3 shrimp for $1 store credit, or $2-3 on cpo or crayfish
they still cant give me store credit
i understood , so im on street lol
this is not joke
Ill make you a deal, ill buy the food for your all your shrimp, I will also purchased some kordon bags and shipping supplies for you, you can then send me some of your surplus shrimp. Pm me if you are interested
If you don't like online or pick up then meet the person in some public parking lot.
I'd definitely be interested in what you would sell for 3 for $1 credit.
I would avoid soliciting on private property unless you meeting up with someone and doing a quick transaction otherwise hanging out and if the property owners complain to the police could net you a fine if you are caught repeatedly.
shipping shrimps aint too bad, use a kordon breather bag, shredded paper and a small flat rate box. Shippings about 10 bucks but thats on the buyer. 3 shrimps for 1 dollar to the LFS?!?!?!?! thats a rip off! They are gonna charge customers 3 or 4 dollars per shrimp.
try looking for a local club, aquabid works as well, also craigslist works. i don't get why the fishstores wont buy from you. it makes no sense. but anyways, i was wondering how exactly you filtered all these tanks. is there a giant wet dry filter somewhere. or like a huge giant canister filter. i see one canister in a pic. but that can't be it.
I think you have a good consumer base here in this thread alone. Let me know if you decide to ship I will buy some from you depending on price it could be a recurring thing.
if you like person to person but you dont want people coming by which i understand as i got a bad vibe off a buyer today and started getting worried as he was on his way but took forever claiming he was lost on a road that you just go straight down... SO that being said maybe if you let me know what you have i would be interested in meeting you some where in the middle as i am probably an hour away from you...
Try contacting them on a sale thread them meeting them somewhere to do the deal. Sure it looks like a drug deal but at least they are not at your home. Its what i do.
Meet interested buyers @ the nearest coffee/pizza shop.
If someone approached me randomly on the street, I would be wary of buying little neon colored shrimp. (The shrimp in the 1st photo looked like they were dipped in food coloring.) $10 I would definitely buy it, just prefer to have some notice ahead of time so I had a appropriate tank setup for them.
See if you can team up with another member that's close by. There's got to be a Philadelphia fish keeping club with some members who are experienced shippers.
Everyone in Philly can't be eating cheesesteaks, scrapple & pretzels all day long.
Too bad you're 7 hours drive from me, otherwise I would help you set something up in exchange for a sampler pack of your armored critters.
Thanks
I sell on craigslist
And if I ship them, I would raise my price because I have to spend time going post office and take care of doa thing
Right now I work seven days aweek I make money and pay tax from it. So fish keeping hobby stays hobby
The USPS will pick packages up at your home for free. That should further reduce some of the stresses of packing and selling.
