Green eyed fire red?

Was looking at my fire reds when I noticed one kinda looked funny. It has green or white eyes! Is this a common gene? Do people breed for this?

Can't say that people breed for it but I have a bunch of Neos - mostly PFR - with silver/white eyes and some with green.

They eyes sometimes change color as they are about to molt, most typically turn whitish. However, I have a rili that has permanent silver eyes, which is awesome.

Its like a snake molting, the eyes develop a skin over them which makes them look light.

One of my fire reds has this greenish eye color, I can tell it's the same one from how the coloring is.

The weird thing I've noticed with my males is that they ALL have blueish green eyes...
the females all have black "lobster looking" ones. They probably got it from my first pair of fire reds.

I have a male supreme red with permanent silver eyes. Was told it was because it was about to molt, but color has stayed the same for the past 2 months.

Actually a very good question. There's several colors of eyes in neos that I have observed. Green, yellow and white being the most noticeable since they really pop against a solid background.

To my knowledge, no one has bred for a certain eye trait, so it would make a great simple project that would allow you to create your own strain.
