Thanks. I have no idea if it will breed true though?

Yeah I might do that when it gets a little older. Still a baby so when its a little stronger.

I contacted my breeder about the BKK whos green. It turns out he gave me a baby green hulk as a gift. He forgot to tell me.

Heres the other blue bolt and the little green one. Sorry I took it with my cellphone so pardon the quality.

That's normal happened to low grade BB but you might need work on your water. It's just same as CRS when the water is not good they lost the coloration.
Also the reason of the head still looks darker than the body cause most people breed BB with gene CBS that's why the head part is little bit darker than the body.

Aww and I was hoping I got a new variant. Whats the optimum water conditons for BB's? Also if it was the water, wouldn't the rest of the blue bolts also loss their color?

Yeah I know. Its not a high grade blue bolt. I could barely afford the low grades as it is.

Actually that's not a bad thing. As I know some people are working on that now. Thats how they got BB after BKK.
Maybe you can have green bolt even green king kong.

No i mean its a bad thing that i have bad water quality that causes my bb to lose color.

It be great to have green bolts and green shadow pandas but at last I'm not that good of a breeder. At least with crs

Actually I take that back. The little green guy is starting to color up the rest of the body. Although lighter than the head, its starting to look good.

This little guy is getting more and more interesting everyday. Maybe it will stay green or maybe it will go back to blue. Meanwhile, I'm really digging this guy

BBs tend to change color quite a bit. I have some I got from one supplier and a few higher grades too. My females go very pale then get much bluer after they are berried for some reason. Lately all my BBs were pale powder blue in my co2 planted tank. Now today they are much darker blue more turquoise in color and nothing in the tank has been/or changed.

I think it has a lot to do with mood...stressed out they go pale, happy they get darker....females molt go pale, berried they get darker....who knows...shrimp are fascinating at any shade.

If you get them to breed that will be the clincher. I have heard from sources that to get the optimum blue color, you should use 1 high grade x lower grade, as high grade x high grade doesn't always equate to deeper blue color.

Good luck and keep us posted.

I have a BB berried now too, but it could be anyone BB, BKK, WR, CWB or Snow white, as all are in my TB tank.

Given your location, your water should be amazing for CRS/BKK. NYC and SF both have near RO water pouring out of the tap.
