Could be a bacteria bloom. Honestly, with cloudy water and its not that bad, i leave it and let it stabilize. Doing massive WC's won't make it go away, it has to run it's cycle. New tanks do weird things. I started some of my shrimp tanks like add substrate, water, mature filter, shrimp same day and it never works out properly. Either get deaths, no breeding for months, all kinds of things. I've learn to be patient (hard) and wait to add my shrimp until any weird critters may pop up, bacteria blooms are gone, water tests fine, etc. I use ramshorn snails now and toss some of them in and let it go for a while. If they die, you know something is massively wrong. If they are happy in there and breeding more snails, then I will start to add shrimp.
20g platy, , 2 x 10g shrimp, 3 x 20g shrimp, 7.5g shrimp and 1 great dane/mastiff puppy.
