Hey all,

Got my tank up and running and I've ended up with a couple snails in my tank that I didn't put there. :)

I need help to identify this snail.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
J

Umm, bladder snail. And all the evidence you need is in the google images link you included. Although you googled "pond snail", the entire top row of pictures are bladder snails, and if you follow the image links they confirm such. Not sure why google did such a bad job with that search. The first picture is the most useful, because it shows the difference between a pond snail and a bladder snail.

They are like roaches, if you see two there are 10 more hiding somewhere. Welcome to the world of planted tanks! Oh and snails arent a bad thing. Dont over feed and their populations stay in check and they play a role in a the ecology of an aquarium.

Yeah, that's what worries me. But it makes me feel good to find the only two I've seen in the tank. :)
