An IE question

I have a question for all of the computer people out there.

Why is it that when I add a website to my IE "Favorites" or "Links", I have a neat little custom icon along with the website in said folders for a few days, and then the icon disappears after that?

I like Mozilla. Easy popup blocking, selective image non-loading (ie. advertisers), really easy-to-use cookie controls, a zillion easy plugins for whatever annoys you (I love the plugin that prevents flash movies from going until YOU click the little arrow). And I've never gotten an email virus or any spyware....

I have used Mozilla and FireFox. But I still like Maxthon the most. It's faster in every aspect of operation, and just as versatile as either of the other two.

Check it out at http://maxthon.com/en/index.htm and if you don't like it you are out nothing. In fact I would be lost without Maxthon and IESpell.
Wow Rex, you are right. Maxthon makes a huge difference. I don't think i'm ever gonna go back. It's like the best fo IE mixed with the best of Firefox. All in one package.

I'm not going to say I told you so :)

Maxthon is a great solution. I got turned on to it when it was called MyIE2 and the feature I really wanted was that it solved the IP spoofing that IE still has problems with. That's the problem where if you hover your pointer over a link IE can show something other than the true address. It's a technique used by phishers.

I have to admit that I have been using computers for right around 20 years now. I have always been on the hunt for elegant solutions to common problems. Some of the utilities I use on a daily basis are these:

Turbolaunch http://www.savardsoftware.com/turbolaunch/
IESpell http://www.iespell.com

And of course the file manager that makes life worth living (did I say I'm a file hog? I can DL right around 13 gigs in a day and do so on a regular basis. Without a decent file manager I would be lost).

The only way to do that is to under options, settings, general tab, and click on settings under temporary internet files, there you need to select “Every time you start Internet Explorer”
