new to WA

hey everyone! i moved to WA just a few months ago from AK. i was wondering if there were any good aquarium clubs around the Puyallup area, as i am hoping to meet some new people! also everyone at work thinks im crazy for putting in so much time, effort and money into my newest tank. so finding people with the same sickness i have would be great. thanks!

Hey, I'm new as of 1.5 yrs ago. GSAS (Greater Seattle Aquarium Society) is great, $55 annual membership, access to swap meets, guest lectures and discounts at friendly pet stores.

WAFishBox is a local forum, as well. Lots of good members on there.

10 gallon acrylic fw planted. 6 HET rasboras, RCS, pond snails & MTS, ludwigia repens, Marimo & java moss, AC50, Finnex Planted+ 17W LED, pressurized CO2.

Hi Josh H.,

+1 for the Greater Seattle Aquarium Society (GSAS). ukigumo11 is correct, memberships are very inexpensive. Lot's of 'plantheads' in the clubs and the monthly auction at the end of most meetings has some rare plants really cheap. Our November meeting is our annual plant auction of plants, fish, shrimp, hardscape, but no equipment....last year almost 600 items sold in about 4 hours.

There are world class speakers on a regular basis like Tom Barr, Christel Kasselmann, Ian Fuller, Oliver Lucanus, Ad Konings, Dick Au, and others in the last several years.

45 Gallon Tall; 96 Watt AH Supply CF; 6700K; & 30 Gallon Long; 2X36 Watt AH Supply CF; Press. CO2; UGF; Heat Treated Montmorillonite Clay
