Putting in real plants for the first time

Hello all. Just signed up to the boards as a friend pointed me over to the site, and i have a question. I have a 38G tank that has been setup and running for about 5 months now, and i am interested in getting rid of the fake plants and putting in some real ones. I need some help! What to start with, not to start with etc. Any help would be greatly welcome.

Welcome Foo.
Read the articles in this web : http://www.csd.net/~cgadd/aqua/articles.htm

Get all the basics right (substrate, lighting, CO2 requirement for certain set up).

Read the FAQ here. Read my FAQ. Read as much as you can before you take another step. Spend money wisely the first time. Cutting corners usually costs more money in the long run.
