Are you setting up a New Dirt Tank. Stop! Read First

I just went to Home Depot today to pick up some Osmocote Plus and some more bags of MGOCPM. In my area HD has the 32 qt for $7.40 regular price. As I was picking up the bags, an associate informed be that the MGOCPM is being replaced. MG is discontinuing what we know of the Organic Choice Potting mix in the brownish/orange bag. The new product is below in the green bag. I got a shot of the NPK as well. The old version is .10 N, .05 Ph and .05 Pot. The new is a little more. It is .18 N, .10 Ph and .12 Pot.

Here is the kicker and why I wanted you to read this. If you plan to setup a new tank soon. Drop what your doing and head to HD if they carry MGOCPM in your area. They are clearancing out the old and in with the new. The clearance price is 0.01. They are suppose to throw them away but some stores may still have them. I only got 4 bags. One guy got a dozen. I assume he was going store to store rounding them up because while I was at the check out, the cashiers, didn't know what to do so they just gave them to us. That's right. Free. Worst case, you may have to pay .01 cent per bag if you can find them. I use to work at HD from 2003-2012' so I know all to well how they operate and when a clearance is on at that price, it don't last long at all. Good luck everyone for those that are interested.

Also HD has some other Organic soil that could be tested for use for us and its not Vigoro. I test in back in 2013 and it was inferior to MG. I think the other brand is like All Savers or something like that but its not by the MG product, its by the mulch. The npk on it is .30 N, .10 Ph and .10 Pot. I started to get one to try it until I spotted the MG over by the other MG merchandise. It was meant to be for I got it for free instead of the product by the mulch.

So, is there a suitable replacement for people like me who noticed it wasn't at HD anymore and didn't know why?

It's possible I got a very lucky break. I didn't plan on buying it but I just looked for the heck of it with the intent to buy 3 bags. Once I found out they were clearanced at check out, the department supervisor just said take them since they didn't want the hassle of charging .01 cents. I was offered to go get more but I only got one additional bag.

I read it has chicken manure. I thought that wasn't good?

It's been composted so no problem.

Oh okay great. Can I mix it with red clay (kitty litter)? Or ought I just do the kitty litter on its own?

I need a soft brown sand layer on the top. If I put the Miracle Grow... won't the sand layer sift down to mix with the Miracle Grow?

Thanks.

I used Laterite under Eco and it only shifts when I pull up plants.
Trumpet snails burrow in the sub so if you have them eventually(no I wouldn't care to
guess at how long) it will all be mixed.

The shortest distance between any two points is a straight line...in the opposite direction...
