Where can I go....?

So after a year in the planted tank community I'm upgrading from my little starter 10 gallon to a 40b and needless to say I'm pumped on the transition. My issue is that there are no decent planted aquarium stores near my house in Santa Barbara (CA) and am willing to travel as far south as LA and as far north as San Luis Obispo. I just want to see some nice product (not the typical java ferns) and talk to people who are passionate about it. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!!

Can't help, but I'd imagine you'd have huge selection of great places for plants being where you are. It's hard to find places catering to my own tanks, so I usually have to go online for great plants.

You won't find people more passionate about planted tanks than the one's right here on TPT. The plants are probably better quality/better price in the swap and shop too. (I have no experience with this in America, but the stuff I get from fellow plant keepers up here is way nicer than the LFS)

Hey thanks for the quick reply (all the way from Australia!!) Yeah, I know there has to be something good nearby, just wanted a few suggestions from people in the area before I hit the road. Come on California, where you at?

There is a really fantastic shop in Santa Monica CA (LA) called Nature Aquarium. It is Tiny, but PACKED with stuff, and they carry the ADA line as well which is unique.

I drive from San Diego to go there, they also have rare shrimp.

No problem! Happy to pass the word along, I found out about it from a thread I started just like this one.
