Never owned a tank over 70g. Up to that point I'd say 40B. I just set up a riparium in a 56C, I think that is the perfect tank for that purpose.
I think if I ever had the space in the right room, with a good floor, a 200G ~ 96 x 24 x 20 would be the perfect combination. At 8' you can really fill your field of vision sitting in front of it. I think 24" is really a nice depth for aquascaping. Over 20" tall is not fun to work in, and a little easier to light than taller tanks.
