Saw it on another forum yesterday but was skeptical they'd have it again so soon...maybe will have to swing by one later and see if my store's doing it and what's there. Thanks!

Grr... I'm loving my 20L, but having the extra height in a 29 would let my stems really go crazy.

ugh...

Just finished cycling my 25gal, was actually looking to put some livestock in there today. Not to hijack this thread, but has anyone had any luck with Petco livestock? Or should I stay away.

I haven't had bad experiences with Petco fish, I just rarely buy there because the selection at my local Petcos has always been dismal. There are actually 2 Petsmarts near me that usually have pretty good fish. And then there is one that is an ich factory. Just depends on the store / management / employees I guess.

I've always wanted a 20H but last time I went into PetCo for their sale I came out with a 40b (yay!) and a kitten. A rescue group was there during the first weekend of the sale. Sneaky!

He still likes aquarium things!

Gesh that was a fast. The last one just ended July 21. They must have had a bad turnout last time and had lot of tanks left, or made a huge profit and want to do it again. I didn't expect to see the next sale until Nov or Dec. Well, I guess I will have to go scoop up some more tanks.

I've decided to stop at 50 tanks so no Petco for me this time. I'm almost sure of it. I think. 40B. Hmmmmm.

I was hedging my bets on October (Colombus day weekend to be exact) but this makes sense. This sale ends in late sept which means there's just enough time to start it up again in late nov for Black Friday.

Pay no attention to the 40b in the back seat. Stopped by petco on my way back from the gym and used a pet supplies plus $5 off coupon. Picked up a 40b for $43.05 after tax. I couldn't have done better unless I drove to NH for no sales tax.

Neither as I understand it.

I know a Mgr. for them, definitely a Loss Leader item. Basically "giving then away @ cost" to build relationships with customers. I think if you could get a honest answer the local managers feel these sales are a P.I.A.

Now, PetSmart & Simply PetSupplies+ have jumped on the band wagon.

I see the problem for the chains being CAH(Cheap@$$Hobbyest) that only shop there for these $1 a gl tanks and don't support the stores. I think eventually the Corporate Rulers with just eliminate the Fish Dept. as the Chain's live on Dog Food sales.

We lost the Mom & Pop LFS because CAHs ran to the chains to save 50cents on a guppy. The Chain's fish dept. will go next because the CAHs buy on line.

These chains are helping us out with $1 gl sales.....Toss them a bone and buy something else there when you go in.
