I caught these bugs in my vegetable garden. I want to feed them to my senegal, but I want to id them to make sure it is safe for feeding.
I think they're some kind of caterpillar, but I'm not sure. They were on the cilantro (coriander) and green peas plants. They are green with black and yellow bands all over their bodies. When I pluck them off the plants, they had this orange forked tongue thing come out from their heads. I think they use it for defense. Also, they seem to spin silk or some kind of spider web-like thing.
Well you may want to consider planting extra dill next year as that is one of the host plants for the Black Swallowtail caterpillar. Or you can plant carrot and fennel to keep them off your dill plant.
